Microneedling uses tiny, controlled micro-channels in the skin to trigger your body's natural healing response. Across a course of treatments the result is firmer, smoother skin with improved texture and tone — with minimal downtime beyond a brief redness.

Suitable for most adult skin types, microneedling pairs well with our other rejuvenation treatments. For enhanced results, it can be combined with PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) or skin boosters to deeply nourish and accelerate visible improvement.

Duration ~45 minutes per session
Downtime 24–48 hours mild redness
Course 3–6 sessions, 4–6 weeks apart
Performed by Independent Nurse Prescriber

Frequently asked questions

Is microneedling painful?

Discomfort is minimal. A topical numbing cream is applied around 20 minutes before treatment to keep you comfortable throughout.

How soon will I see results?

Initial improvements in radiance and texture are typically visible within 1–2 weeks. Collagen building peaks at around 3 months after each session, so a course of treatments delivers the most noticeable, lasting change.

Who can have microneedling?

Most adults with healthy skin are suitable. We screen for contraindications at consultation, including active acne flares, recent sun exposure or sunbed use, certain skincare ingredients, certain medications, and pregnancy.

Can I wear makeup afterwards?

We recommend avoiding makeup for 24 hours after treatment. Mineral SPF and gentle hydrating skincare are encouraged in the days following your session.

How should I prepare for treatment?

Avoid retinols, exfoliating acids, sunbeds and sun exposure for at least one week before your session. Your consultation will cover preparation in full detail tailored to your skin.

Treatments at Skin Rehab are provided by an Independent Nurse Prescriber registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). A consultation is required before treatment. Services are for adults aged 18 and over. Individual results may vary.
